Although our real-life routine may have been disrupted by the COVID-19 situation, our digital lives are still chugging on. FirstCom recently attended a virtual career networking event jointly conducted by Workforce Singapore (WSG) and Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP).
Originally a face-to-face event, it was switched to teleconferencing to uphold current COVID-19 measures. We e-met with prospective digital marketing candidates who graduated from a digital marketing boot camp, with a mix of fresh graduates and experienced professionals looking to make a career switch. Sharing day-to-day tasks of a digital marketing executive and the state of our industry, we also learned about what candidates are seeking in their first jobs.
We were also graced by Minister of Manpower Josephine Teo, who dropped by for a mingling session. Some of the topics discussed included: the role of SMEs in the growth and future of the digital marketing industry in Singapore and how greater government support can help more local businesses digitise!
