Chinese New Year Celebrations: The FirstCom Way
January 28, 2020
Staff were in for a pleasant surprise in the morning as our boss Jim cheerily went around the office to hand out ang pows. Celebrations got underway with a bang as the entire office gathered to watch the lion dancers make their way around tables to bring good fortune and prosperity to usher in the Year of the Rat. Oranges opened by the dancers were shared amongst the staff to spread the luck.
A quick company photo to follow and everyone lined up for the hotly anticipated pick-your-own-angpow lucky draw!
A few lucky winners walked away with angpows containing $288, $188 and $88 — before everyone lined up for the customary Yu Sheng. Things got a bit hectic, as those positioned in the middle of the table getting pelted will tell you! It was all in good fun as many happy faces tucked into the Yu Sheng, and the hearty catered lunch afterwards.
To re-energize and refresh ourselves for the new year, staff were given the rest of the day off to spend time with their families, while others visited Jim’s house to continue the festivities! Just what was needed to get the office motivated to work hard for another prosperous year!
